Iran rejects accusations by EU Council of Ministers
The Iranian Foreign Ministry’s spokesperson Esmail Baqaei rejected the accusations made against the Islamic Republic of Iran in meeting of the EU Council of Ministers.
The Iranian Foreign Ministry’s spokesperson, Esmail Baqaei, rejected the accusations made against the Islamic Republic of Iran in meeting of the EU Council of Ministers.    Baqaei condemned the European Union for imposing new sanctions on certain Iranian individuals, calling the move unlawful, destructive, and unjustified.    The Foreign Ministry spokesperson described the EU’s claim that Iran supports terrorist activities in Europe as ridiculous and baseless.    He said that some European governments’ insistence on spreading accusations and falsehoods against Iran is a clear attempt to deflect domestic and international public opinion from their own systematic support of terrorism and the crimes of the Israeli regime in Gaza and the broader West Asia region.    He emphasized, “While the EU and some of its member states criticize and sanction Iran based on unfounded pretexts, they remained silent in the face of Israeli military aggression against Iran and the killing of Iranian citizens, and even went so far as to justify and support it.”    The spokesperson stressed that the EU’s sanctions against Iranian citizens, based on baseless accusations and without any evidence, are arbitrary actions that violate fundamental principles of human rights. He warned that such measures carry international legal responsibility for the proposing and supporting states.
