Iran condemns Israeli plan for full military occupation of Gaza forced displacement of Palestinians

The spokesperson for Iran’s Foreign Ministry Esmail Baqaei has described the Zionist regime’s plan to militarily occupy Gaza City and forcibly displace its residents as part of an effort to complete the genocide of the Palestinian people condemning it in the strongest terms.

The spokesperson stressed that the threat of fully occupying Gaza by those criminals ruling the historic land of Palestine, who are under investigation by the International Criminal Court (ICC) and whose actions are also being examined by the International Court of Justice (ICJ) as genocide, is further evidence of the Zionist regime’s specific intent to carry out ethnic cleansing in Gaza and commit genocide against Palestinians. He urged both the ICC and ICJ to address the issue.

Baqaei emphasized the legal and moral responsibility of all governments and the United Nations to stop the genocide and the grave crimes currently being committed in the occupied Palestinian territories.

He denounced continued complicity by the US and certain other Western countries in the Zionist regime’s crimes as shameful, and asserted that forcing the Israeli regime to halt its genocide and to immediately send humanitarian aid to the hungry and thirsty people of Gaza is an essential step to ending a catastrophe that has shaken the legal, normative, and moral foundations of human civilization.

Baqaei also noted that the Islamic Republic of Iran has officially requested that the Secretariat of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), Saudi Arabia as the host country, and Turkey as the current chair of the OIC Council of Foreign Ministers, convene an emergency meeting of the organization.

The spokesperson called for collective action by Islamic countries to assist the oppressed people of Palestine.
