The Foreign Ministry of the Islamic Republic of Iran voices deep concern over and strongly condemns the Zionist regime's continued massacres and acts of genocide in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, as well as assaults on Islamic holy sites in the city of al-Quds. While appreciating the principled stance of freedom-loving governments and nations and their solidarity with the oppressed people of Palestine, the Foreign Ministry of the Islamic Republic of Iran underscores the responsibility of the international community to halt the genocide and provide immediate assistance to the oppressed people of Gaza.
The Foreign Ministry of the Islamic Republic of Iran firmly condemns the recent decision of the Zionist regime’s cabinet to fully occupy the Gaza Strip and forcibly displace its residents and views it as part of a broader plan to complete the genocide of Palestinians and erase the identity and existence of Palestine. This decision constitutes a grave violation of international law and a deliberate attempt to expand occupation and impose new realities across the occupied Palestinian territories by force and military aggression. Undoubtedly, the renewed displacement of Palestinians is categorically condemned, and it is necessary that the historical and legal status of the holy sites in al-Quds be preserved.
The Foreign Ministry of the Islamic Republic of Iran underlines the need for an immediate and complete cessation of attacks by the Zionist regime on Gaza, the unconditional and full delivery of humanitarian aid to the region, guaranteed freedom of action for relief organizations in carrying out humanitarian missions there, support for regional and international efforts to achieve a full ceasefire, the withdrawal of occupying forces from Gaza, the exchange of prisoners and detainees, and the implementation of the Gaza reconstruction plans.
In light of the International Criminal Court’s decision to issue arrest warrants for political and military officials of the Israeli regime, and the International Court of Justice’s orders regarding genocide in the occupied Palestinian territories, responsibility for these heinous crimes and unprecedented humanitarian catastrophes in Gaza lies with this regime. The international community, particularly the UN Security Council and other international legal and human rights bodies are expected to fulfill their legal and moral obligations, to pave the way for prosecuting and punishing the Zionist criminals, and to end the regime’s long-standing impunity.
Realizing the national rights of the Palestinian people, most notably their fundamental right to self-determination and the establishment of an independent and unified Palestinian state with al-Quds as its capital, is both a legal and moral necessity. The Foreign Ministry reiterates the Islamic Republic of Iran's principled policy on the issue and its support for the Palestinian people’s right to complete liberation from occupation, apartheid, and colonialism, and highlights its democratic initiative for a referendum among the indigenous inhabitants of Palestine, Muslims, Christians, and Jews, to determine their own destiny and the political system governing the land of Palestine.
